TLDR: Major updates include implementing 2FA for users, password policies, improved simulation events filtering and exporting, and other improvements across different features.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
We’re excited to introduce Two-Factor Authentication to help keep your Symbol Security account safer than ever! Now, both users and administrators can enable 2FA directly from the profile page. Once activated, you’ll receive a 6-digit code via email each time you log in. Simply enter this code to complete the login process, ensuring only you can access your account, even if someone knows your password. Codes are valid for 1 minute, and you can easily resend a code if needed. Note that deactivating 2FA also requires entering a code for added security.
Strong Password Validator
To strengthen password security across the platform, we’ve implemented a real-time password validator to guide you in creating a secure password. Every time you set a password, the validator checks it against our updated password policy and categorizes it as Weak, Good, or Secure. Our password policy requires at least one number, both uppercase and lowercase letters, a special character, no blank spaces, and a length between 10 and 50 characters. By following these guidelines, you’ll create a strong password that protects your account from unauthorized access.
Simulation Events Improvements
As part of this new version, we've added a way to identify which simulation events are part of the company security program. By showing "Company Program" in the Campaign/Program column from the simulation events list you can easily identify if the event was generated through the company schedule or from a specific campaign.
We've also added the "Company Program" indicator when exporting the events list as CSV.
Filtering by Company Program events is also available. When clicking on the Campaign input from the Filter modal, you can select the option "🏢 Company Program".
⚒️ Other Improvements
We've improved the experience when confirming admins' email addresses.
